NHC expands in Norway
Nordic Hotel Consulting is expanding in Norway
As of January 2017, Nordic Hotel Consulting (NHC) will increase their presence in Oslo, Norway to accommodate an increasing demand for advisory services in the Norwegian market and to further strengthen NHC’s position as the premier pan-Nordic hotel advisory.
Frederik Lindvik is the new addition to the Norwegian Team in NHC.
Frederik Lindvik holds a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Finance & Revenue Management from Glion Institute of Higher Education (GIHE) in Switzerland, where he specialized in hospitality finance and revenue management. Frederik has international experience and worked with development of new properties and renovations from Starwood Hotels EAME office in Brussels. From 2008 to 2016 he worked for Nordic Choice Hotels in Norway and Sweden where he gained vast experience from Operations Management, Sales and Commercial Development. Last position before joining NHC was as Operations Manager at the award-winning hotel, THE THIEF in Oslo.
“With the increase in demand in the Norwegian hotel sector driven by international tourism, the interest in hotel development and investments is surging. The demand for hotel advisory services from domestic and international key-players is sought after. We see a large possibility in assisting hotel owners in the development phase of the hotels to make sure the product will be financially viable and a solid investment for many years to come. We see also see a potential in existing hotel properties to further develop or to reposition their product to improve the general financial performance.” notes Frederik Lindvik
The hotel market in Oslo & Norway are going through exciting and in some regions tough times. 2016, was a record year with an increase in international arrivals of 11% and a 2% increase in the domestic market. The competition in the hotel industry is fierce and a strong increase in supply has led to practically no growth in RevPAR (Revenue per available room) in Norway over the past nine years. Both the amount of new rooms but also the type of new rooms has hindered strong growth in hotel rates. Many of the new hotels opening are operating under a limited service model offering cheaper room rates, naturally. “We are constantly looking to strengthen our position in all our markets by having teams with key competencies that can better serve the varying needs of both local as well as cross-border clients. Frederik has extensive Nordic and international knowledge of real estate and finance but particularly experience in operations and is a strong addition to the NHC team which will allow us to serve the needs of our clients even better”, says Christian Kielgast, Partner in NHC.
